Stephen H. Blackwell has taught Russian literature and language at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville since 1995. He has published many articles on Nabokov, as well as monographs on The Gift and on the influence of the sciences on Nabokov’s art. His upcoming book, Nabokov’s Secret Trees, will be published this summer. With Johnson, he co-edited Fine Lines: Vladimir Nabokov’s Scientific Art. He is also a past president of the International Vladimir Nabokov Society and, as time allows, a fine-art photographer.
