The ProSocial Process

The ProSocial Core Processes provide a practical way to understand and reshape the systems that influence our lives, such as politics, economics, and culture.

Rather than relying on fixed ideas, these processes encourage creative thinking about our ever-changing world. When used in group settings, they help build stronger connections and shared goals, bringing people together across different movements and sectors to tackle common challenges. These processes blend personal growth, skill-building, open dialogue, and hands-on learning to inspire both reflection and action.

The approach follows six key phases:

  1. Creating a foundation for change
  2. Improving communication and awareness
  3. Building shared vision and purpose
  4. Exploring better ways to work together
  5. Identifying opportunities for progress
  6. Evaluating actions as they happen

Importantly, these phases aren’t rigid steps but tools to be adapted based on each group’s needs. By combining learning and action, the process empowers participants to take charge of their future, fostering a sense of agency and ownership.

At its core, ProSocial is about helping people identify what matters most

and working together to make real change. By sharing stories, uncovering shared values, and deciding on priorities, groups can create plans that reflect their unique needs and aspirations.

It’s a flexible and inclusive  approach that encourages collaboration, personal insight, and community transformation — all while staying focused on building a future worth striving for.

A Practical Scientific Framework for Collective Success

1. Cooperation

Building on Elinor Ostrom’s Nobel-winning research, we foster effective collaboration with key principles that help groups manage shared resources and avoid conflicts. These principles are tailored to each group’s needs, aligning individual efforts with shared goals.

“Core Design Principles” for successful cooperation

  1. Clear group identity and shared sense of purpose.
  2. Equitable distribution of benefits and resources.
  3. Inclusive decision-making.
  4. Transparency of behavior.
  5. Graduated responding to helpful and unhelpful behavior.
  6. Fast and fair conflict resolution.
  7. Autonomy and authority to implement CDP1-CDP6.
  8. Appropriate relations with othe groups (consistent with CDP1-CDP7)

2. Adaptability

Adaptability is essential for navigating change. Using Contextual Behavioral Science, we guide groups in identifying patterns, adjusting strategies, and adopting behaviors aligned with shared values, enhancing resilience and cohesion.

3. Psychological Flexibility

Through tools like the ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) Matrix, we help balance mindfulness with purposeful action. This proven approach empowers individuals and groups to align actions with core values, improving mental health, teamwork, and goal achievement.
